About the Department

The Millersville University Department of Geography offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with three concentrations: environmental, applied and global studies. The environmental concentration allows students to pursue traditional resource-based issues of air, water, energy and land resources. The applied concentration focuses on the geographic skills of GIS, remote sensing, quantitative methods, and cartographic design. The global option is the broadest in scope and students learn about geopolitcal and regional geographic issues.

The department has six faculty and about 50 majors and 20 minors. Upper-division class size is typically less than 20 students, so students can develop a close relationship with professors.

Department Office: McComsey Hall 220

The department office is McComsey Hall, Room 220. The department secretary is Eileen Gaenzle. Elieen is the full-time secretary from August to June. (Eileen is also the heart and soul of the department.)
