Welcome to the Millersville University

Philosophy courses are open to all students and present an opportunity for students to develop their critical thinking skills on a broad range of issues. Traditional subjects include Philosophy of Religion, Introduction to Logic, and Ethical Theories. Non-traditional courses include Philosophy and Film and Thanatopsis: Viewing Death.

A major in philosophy is designed to acquaint students with a wide range of philosophers, philosophic concepts, and philosophic problems. Such a major can provide adequate training for those who wish to attend graduate school in philosophy or it can be used as a pre-professional or pre-theological degree. In order to supplement knowledgeobtained in another major, some students choose philosophy as a second major or as a minor.
