John Dawson, PhD
John Dawson, PhD, postdoctoral trainee in the Department of Biostatistics, has been chosen as a finalist for The Obesity Society (TOS) Ethan Sims Young Investigator Award, recognizing excellence in research by a young investigator. This selection was based on the scores received from reviewers for his abstract, “A Bayesian Meta-Analytic Study of Whether Rigorous Control Conditions Diminish Treatment Effects in Weight Loss Randomized Controlled Trials.”
Dr. Dawson is one of five finalists selected to present an abstract at TOS’s Annual Meeting, which is one of the world largest gatherings of obesity professionals at all stages of their careers, including leading obesity scientists presenting cutting-edge research. It will be held during ObesityWeekTM, November 11-16, 2013, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Finalists will present their abstracts during a special session, which is scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2013. Each is allotted 15 minutes for his or her presentation, to include time for questions from Awards Committee members and other meeting attendees. The Ethan Sims Award winner will be announced after all five presentations have been reviewed by the members of the Awards Committee.
