Dr. Prince received a PhD in Biochemistry from UAB under the guidance of Dr. Juan Navia. After a postdoctoral fellowship in protein biochemistry with Dr. William Butler, he joined the UAB faculty and progressed through the ranks to his current rank of tenured Professor. He has held a variety of academic, administrative positions at UAB, including Division Director, PhD Program Director, Department Vice-chair, Interim Chair, and, currently, Assistant Vice-President for Research. In the latter role, he is interested in scientific integrity and the responsible conduct of research, research computing, and research centers and core facilities. In his free time, he enjoys live music, USTA league tennis, photography, and spending time with his wife and family of three children and one grandchild.
