    Welcome to the Chemical Engineering Department at Northeastern University. Our Department offers degrees at all levels (Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy). Undergraduate students receive a high quality classroom-based education in conjunction with industrial work experience as part of our top-rated Cooperative (Co-op) Education program. The Chemical Engineering Co-op program manages for our students over 55 companies spanning the areas of consumer products, plastics, biotechnology, nanotechnology, alternative energy, and petrochemicals, to name a few. Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Anand Asthagiri

Anand-Asthagiri-Photo Associate Professor
The Chemical Engineering Department welcomed Dr. Anand Asthagiri in January 2011 as an associate professor. Dr. Asthagiri was attracted to Northeastern’s plans for dynamic growth, the collegiality of the faculty and students and faculty scientific interaction. He believes that the work being done at Northeastern, from the students up to the administration, has the potential for great impact on the world.

Dr. Asthagiri grew up in the town of Kent, Ohio. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University and earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering with a minor in molecular cell biology from MIT. Read more…
