General Electric
GE is a diversified technology, finance and media company focused on solutions to global challenges. Among the world’s largest and best-known corporations, it serves customers in more than 100 countries and employs more than 320,000 people worldwide.
The company has been a valued co-op partner for more than 50 years, and the diversity of its business adds to its value. GE hires up to 60 co-op students over the course of a year. Most are hired out of the College of Engineering, and a significant number of GE co-ops receive offers for full-time positions upon graduation.
In 2009, Northeastern presented two alumni—GE Healthcare America president and CEO Mark Vachon, ’82, and GE Aviation senior manager Andrea Cox, ’92—and their teams with a “Co-op Education Employer Award” for their continued support and commitment to co-op. Both Northeastern and GE look forward to expanding and building the decades-long partnership, particularly in the company’s international businesses.
