Northeastern University Welcomes Acclaimed Fiction Writer

WHO/WHAT: Northeastern University’s “Meet the Author” series welcomes Stewart O’Nan, critically hailed as one of the most highly acclaimed fiction writers of his generation.

O’Nan, who co-wrote The New York Times bestseller Faithful with Stephen King, will discuss his new book Last Night at the Lobster.  Described as a poignant portrait of a man on the verge of losing himself, Lobster tells the story of Manny DeLeon, a restaurant manager navigating a tricky last shift before the business closes its doors for good.

Touted as a moving novel about how we work, how we live and how we get to the next day with our spirits intact, DeLeon struggles to cope with his love for a waitress, his pregnant wife and a mutinous staff.

O’Nan is the award-winning author of In the Walled City and Snow Angels.

WHEN: Wednesday, November 7, 2007, from noon-1:30 pm.

WHERE: Snell Library, Northeastern University, 360 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

This event is co-sponsored by the Northeastern Libraries and the Northeastern Bookstore.
