Faculty play an imperative role in how service-learning is facilitated within the University because it lives through the classroom setting in most cases, but the benefits are far reaching for faculty, students, community partners and the university alike. Faculty can benefit from incorporating service-learning into their course in following ways:

• Improved student discussion, participation, and engagement of students of all learning styles

"ED U570, 'Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity,' focuses on teaching, students with disabilities, their families, and communities. It is a course I created for the Education Department. I long felt that missing from 570 was a systematic way to link course material and experiences to the lived lives of teachers and students with so-called 'mild-to-moderate' disabilities. S-L provides that link."
