Mayor Bloomberg unveiled first of its kind data analytics system that will help the Fire Department continue to keep New Yorkers safe

• The Risk Based Inspection System will help firefighters prioritize the nearly 50,000 full-building fire safety inspections they do throughout the City each year.
• The system takes into account, for example, the height and age of a building, the materials from which it was constructed, whether it has a sprinkler system, its last date of inspection, and other factors, and then helps the FDNY identify buildings at highest risk for fire.
• The system is an example of data making New York City safer. The Risk Based Inspection System helps makes the first line of fire defense in our city - fire safety inspections - even stronger.

New Yorkers can now recycle all rigid plastics for the first time. Put rigid plastics like yogurt containers, iced coffee cups, takeout containers, and toys in the Blue recycling bin along with all your metal, glass, cartons, and plastic bottles and jugs.

Ugo Rondinone HUMAN NATURE

For seven weeks this spring, nine 16-to 20-foot-tall, human-shaped stone figures by Swiss-born, New York-based artist Ugo Rondinone, will transform Rockefeller Center, inhabiting the plaza between 49th and 50th Streets as if transported from another time. The work, Human Nature, will be free to the public and, is on view April 23 through July 7, 2013. Presented by Nespresso, the exhibition is organized by Public Art Fund and Tishman Speyer.

In honor of Mother’s Day, HHC is hosting mammogram education and screening events the entire month of May. If you are a woman 40 or older, you should get a mammogram every 1-2 years. Attend an event at an HHC public hospital or health center near you.

• Get up-to-date MTA mass transit info, including service suspensions related to the Metro-North Railroad, via www.mta.info. For information about the restoration of service, please contact Metro-North Railroad Travel Information @ (800) 638-7646.
• NYPD has issued a Missing Senior Notification for the disappearance of Edward Prioleru, male, black, 79 years old, from Adair St. and Pineville Lane in Queens. Mr. Prioleru is described as 6' tall, 160 lbs., last seen wearing tan pants.
• New York State Troopers have issued a Vulnerable Adult Alert for the disappearance of Alfred Tobias, male, black, age 58, from Suffolk County, NY. Mr. Tobias is described as 5'10" tall, 170 lbs., last seen wearing a blue short sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots.
• Due to an earlier incident involving Metro-North Railroad trains near Fairfield, CT., Amtrak Acela Express and Northeast Regional service is suspended indefinitely between New York Penn Station and Boston. Information about the restoration of service will be made when available or contact (800) 872-7245.
• Alternate Side Parking regulations and parking meter and muni-meter rules are suspended Sunday, May 19. All other parking regulations are in effect.
• Alternate Side Parking regulations are in effect on Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.
• Alternate Side Parking regulations will be suspended in parts of Northern Manhattan in Community District 12 starting Monday, April 28, 2013 as DOT posts second phase of new street-cleaning regulations. The first phase installation, recently completed, will take effect starting Monday, May 6.
• The Carroll Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal will be fully closed to all cars, bicycles, and pedestrians beginning on Monday, April 1 through August 1 for repairs. The nearby Union Street Bridge will remain open.
• Visit the Department of Education website for details about school openings and relocations. Please check back later in the day as information is continuously being updated. After school programs are subject to cancellation.
• To learn about weekend street closures, and to access the NYC Street Closures map, visit the weekend traffic advisory page at the DOT website.
