A new version of Freegal Music has been released. You'll notice a new interface and some additional features, including the ability to add items to a Wish List. The lastest version of Freegal Music also introduces Freegal Music videos. That's right! You can now download music videos from the Freegal Music service, and just like with Freegal Music songs, the videos are yours to keep! Please note that Freegal Music videos require two tokens. Freegal Music songs remain one token per song. Currently videos may only be downloaded to your computer. Look for them to be included in the Freegal Music app in the near future.
Additional features you can expect in Freegal Music 4.0:
- The ability to create a wishlist of songs that you want to download in subsequent weeks.
- The ability to backup songs downloaded into the iOS app on your iTunes.
- The ability to delete songs from your app to save memory on your phone.
Helpful tips before you get started:
Current limits are set at three downloads per week. Your counter will set back to zero each week, Monday morning. Then you can download three more tunes during the new week.
Click and Save
When you're ready to download a track, click the "Download Now" link, select Save at the prompt, and designate where you want to save the song. Anytime you click on the "Download now" link, even if you cancel the download, the download counts toward your weekly allotment.
Once in a while, your Internet connection may be interrupted or time out and you might experience an incomplete or problem download. Freegal Music allows you to download previously downloaded songs again, without using up one of your weekly downloads. Learn more about Recent Downloads.
Use the Smart Search box for suggestions when you know the name of the artist, song, album, or composer. As you type into the search box, a list of possible matches drop down from the search tool. Click on one of the suggestions to access results specific to the match. If you type in a word and hit enter without selecting a suggestion, the search results will include anything that has that word in the track, name, or album.
Use the Advanced Search to search by composer, or genre, as well as by artist, song, or album.
