The Technology and Education Center is located on the second-floor of the Orlando Public Library and includes the state-of-the art Melrose Center. The public area consists of 39 Dell and HP multimedia capable computers equipped with CD-RW drives and one Mac from which patrons can access numerous software applications and the Internet. All public computers are equipped with CD-RW drives.

Software applications available on public access computers include:
  • Internet Browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox)
  • Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher)
  • Adobe Reader
Software applications available on Melrose Center computers for members:
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Audition, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and more)
  • Avid Pro Tools 11
  • Final Cut Pro X
  • Logic Pro X
  • Unity 5

The Library also has three classrooms where over 200 unique classes are taught by seasoned trainers and designed by experienced curriculum developers. Our classes combine expert instruction with hands-on exercises with the goal of developing practical skills. Classes are offered daily for all ages and cover a variety of useful topics including introductory computer competencies, office productivity, job seeking skills, photography, audio post-production, and video post-production.
