Debbie Moss | Assistant Director & Head of Technical Services

Debbie Moss is a longtime library professional - having served in numerous capacities for the Orange County Library System for more than two decades. As assistant library director and head of technical support, she oversees multiple areas including collection development, information systems and circulation. Moss takes a leadership role in compiling and analyzing usage trends as means of optimizing the library experience for patrons.

Presented And the Survey Says! Strengthening Services Through Surveying, at the American Library Association Annual Conference in June 2010. The presentation was on using surveys to gather user feedback to achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction. The presentation was made to an audience of 192.

Published an article in the Winter 2009, Material Matters the Unique Management Services newsletter, titled The Orange County Library Experience. Read the article on page 2.

Presented Smart Services for Smart Phones at the Annual Conference of the Florida Library Association. As a result of the stellar presentation at FLA, Moss and co-presenter Sheri Chambers were asked to again present Smart Services for Smartphones at the Panhandle Library Association.

Lynette  Schimpf | Social Media Specialist

Lynette Schimpf is the Social Media Specialist for the Orange County Library System.

Recognized for:
Lynette presented at the 2011 Conference of the American Library Association. Her presentation focused on successfully integrating the use of social networking into a large public library system. The Orange County Library System utilizes multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube and more.

Sheri Chambers, CPLA | Digital Content Manager

Sheri Chambers is the Digital Content Manager and has been with the Orange County Library System since October 1994. She holds a MLS from the University of South Florida. Currently she leads the Digital Content Team in the creation of digital products.

Presented Smart Services for Smart Phones at the Annual Conference of the Florida Library Association. Donna Bachowski, CPLA | Department Manager of Reference Central

Donna Bachowski has 14 years of experience in many facets of public library operations. Prior to joining the Orange County Library System in July 2006, Bachowski was a library director for several years in New Jersey. She has overseen the development of Mobile Services at OCLS and is the project manager for the Orlando Memory Project. Bachowski has a Masters of Library Science from the University of South Florida and a BA in Library Science and History from the University of Southern Mississippi. Bachowski is an active member of the American Library Association, Public Library Association, and Florida Library Association.

She is a frequent presenter at regional and national library conferences. Bachowski presented "Customer Service in OCLS Culture" at the American Library Association Annual Conference 2008. The presentation was part of the Reference and User Services Association President's Program, Quality Service in an Impersonal World, and was attended by approximately 350 librarians from across the U.S.

Jim Myers | Department Head, Circulation

Jim Myers currently serves as the Head of Circulation for the Orange County Library System (OCLS) in Orlando, Florida. Prior to taking charge of Circulation, Jim managed the OCLS home delivery service, MAYL, for seven years. During his tenure, OCLS home delivery volume grew from approximately 300,000 items annually to over 700,000. From 2004-06, Jim was also the project manager for Healthy Connections, a two-year, multi-media health initiative sponsored in part by the National Library of Medicine, which won the 2006 state-level award from the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Jim has been with OCLS since 1990.
