Beta Testing FAQ

What is a Beta Test?

Beta testing usually starts when the basic features and tools are essentially complete, but there’s still work to do on fine-tuning the software, design, navigation, etc.

What do Beta Testers do?

First they use the product or service that is currently being tested just like anyone else would use it. Often times Beta Testers get to use or see a product or service before anyone else.

Second, they give us valuable feedback about how they used it, their likes and dislikes and any comments or concerns. All this feedback is used to create the best product or serivce we can.

How do I become a beta tester?

If you would like to participate in one of the beta tests simply click the "I want to participate" link or send an e-mail to betatester@ocls.info. Please include your name and library card number. You'll be notified by e-mail if you've been selected. Remember, you will need to be a library card holder. Not a card holder? Sign up now.

Do I need any special equipment?

Each test will be different and may require equipment or knowledge of the test subject.

K-Ready App

K-Ready App

We are looking for parents and their children (ages 2-5 years old) to help us make our new K-Ready application better! You and your child will play through the beta version of our Kindergarten Readiness mobile game under the observation of a library staff member. But don't worry! There's no grade and there are no right or wrong answers. Participants will be given a small gift for their efforts! All usability tests will take place at the Orlando Public Library in downtown Orlando and are estimated to take one hour. Parents of the participants must have a library card in good standing. Ready to sign up? Just answer a few questions and we'll contact you if you are selected to participate.
