The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. OCLS has been selected to participate in the Big Read a total of four times since the program's national launch in 2007.

Soy Culto is a targeted initiative to enrich its offerings to the Hispanic community, and raise awareness of the wide array of library resources available to them.
