Forklift Simulator Orientation & Assessment

Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Melrose Center   Registration Required

Learn to drive a forklift in lifelike warehouse conditions. Practice moving freight with realistic controls. Instruction will cover the use of the equipment and software. After completing the instruction take an assessment that will allow you to reserve the Forklift simulator during scheduled lab time. ASSESSMENT REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: To register for this orientation and/or assessment, cardholders must attend the General Orientation for the Melrose Center and must be at least 15 years of age. Children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years of age). You must be present at the scheduled start time to be admitted. #tic #simtic

It's Sew Easy Camp (Ages 11-17)

Take the fashion world by storm! We will teach you everything you need to know to start sewing like a pro. Learn to sew your own tote bag from start to finish using professional patterns, fabric of your choice and professional sewing machines in this 5-day camp. Each session will be 2 hours. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes to this camp. Supported by the City of Orlando Mayor's Matching Grant. Project: Tote Bags Day 1: Sewing safety and using the sewing machine. Day 2: Fabric and reading a professional pattern. Day 3: Sewing seams of tote bags. Day 4: Finishing raw edges for a professional look. Day 5: Embellishing your totes with bling.
