Meet The Author: Christine Mercy Overton!

Sunday, August 30, 2015 at South Creek Branch

Please join us for this very special "Meet the Author and Book Signing Event" with Christine Mercy Overton, cousin to the late Diana, Princess of Wales. "50 Things I've Learned: 5 Decades of Ah-Ha! Life Learning Lessons" By Christine Mercy Overton, D.D., Ph.D. Biography from (amazon.com/author/christinemercyoverton): Christine Mercy Overton is a respected former Chamber of Commerce president, a former United Nations representative, hospice minister, spiritual teacher and a leader of global expansion projects. She holds degrees and certificates in theology, leadership and communication and has won over 100 awards for business excellence and global humanitarian projects including four letters from US Congress, US Girl Scouts, "Woman of distinction," and Rotary International scroll of honor for her humanitarian work in business and philanthropy in India. During the 1989 flu epidemic in England, author Christine Mercy Overton, D.D., Ph.D., was on her deathbed. She believes she visited the gates of heaven, returning with a powerful mission to teach the true meaning of faith to a divided world hell-bent on the collapse of interfaith communal relations. Her new book, "50 Things I've Learned: 5 Decades of 'Ah-Ha!' Life Learning Lessons" (published by Balboa Press), reflects on a lifetime of passion, pain and perseverance as Overton shares her own stunning life lessons and the messages she believes God instructed her to pass on to individuals and community leaders. An orphan adopted by an English aristocrat (cousin to the late Diana, Princess of Wales) Overton has devoted her life to marrying philanthropy and commerce with diversity and tolerance. Overcoming shocking betrayal, the loss of several children and a major disability, Overton has become an acclaimed business leader and motivational speaker to thousands around the world. More than a memoir, "50 Things I've Learned" is a profound wake-up call and challenges everyone to re-think his or her views on life and death, Overton says. She adds that the book presents a trove of always penetrating reflections on everything from India to Native American Indians, from birth to burglary, from betrayal to passionate love and the demanding pressures of corporate America.
