The Library focuses on events that are literacy or literature-based, or that supports or highlights the Library's services or collections. Emphasis is placed on events of an arts, cultural or humanities nature and on events that encourage civic engagement and community discourse. The Library also hosts entertainment and community education events.
How to submit a proposal for an event or author visit
Please review the following information and then submit your proposal online. Applicants will be notified by email once the proposal has been received. The Library will contact the presenter if the event/author visit meets our guidelines and fits into our mission, schedule, and budget. Please note that the program schedule is planned between four and six months in advance. All submitted proposals will be kept on file and a staff member will contact an applicant only if and when there is interest in hosting the proposed event/program.
What is the length of events?
Most events are forty-five minutes to one hour.
Do you pay for presenters?
Most events are done on a volunteer basis and are free to the public. Solicitation is not allowed.
How soon can I book an event at the library?
A minimum lead time of four months is preferred to review the proposal, reserve a meeting room, and publicize the program.
