Workforce Services
At PVCC's Construction Academy, you can train for "green jobs" to meet the predicted growth in renewable energy industries. Partial funding for this initiative comes from the Virginia Weatherization Training Center.
Earn a Certificate
Classes in basic carpentry, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and weatherization skills are offered through our Building Trades Career Studies Certificates that you can earn in 12-18 months of study. These certificates include First Aid/CPR, basics of print reading and OSHA-30 certification to prepare you for jobs with local contractors.
Train for Licensing and Management
For those already in business, the Construction Academy also offers classes including contractor licensing and license management courses.
