Who uses the Centers?

  • All PVCC students.
  • Any student who wants tutoring in almost any subject.
  • Any student who wants an Academic Coach.
  • Any student who wants feedback on writing for any course.
  • Any student who wants help at any stage of writing a paper.
  • Any student who wants instruction or review of any mathematics.
  • Students who want to learn more efficiently.
  • Students who want to form a study group or help their study group be successful.
  • Students who want help managing their time.
  • Any student who wants to eliminate anxiety around learning.
  • A student who wants to know techniques for taking a test.
  • A student who wants to learn effective reading techniques.
  • A student who wants help in math or math practice.

How do I use the Centers?

  • Drop in and sign in at the computer; or
  • Make an appointment by stopping by the Learning Math and Writing Centers, Room 617 in the Main Building; or
  • Make an appointment online

When are the Centers open?

Who staffs the Centers?

  • The Learning Center is staffed by nationally certified tutors including PVCC students and professional tutors (with Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees), as well as by graduate students and teachers.
  • The Writing Center is staffed by PVCC faculty from the English department, PVCC writing instructors and writing tutors trained to work with students in all forms of writing.
  • The Math Center is staffed by PVCC faculty from the Math department and math tutors trained to national standards.
  • The Testing Center is staffed by the Testing Specialist and proctors.

Where are the Centers located?

The entrance to the Centers is in the 600 wing of the main building.

  • The Learning Center is in room M617.

  • The Math Center is in room M712.
  • The Testing Center is room M607.
