The County Office provides a uniform payroll system that serves over 55,000 school employees. District Fiscal Services provides payroll services, support and assistance to 21 of the school districts, 4 of the community college districts, 2 charter schools, and the County Office of Education. A major function of this department is the reporting of the creditable earnings for the two California retirement reporting systems, California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) and California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS). Additional responsibilities include reporting W2s and wage withholding orders.
