Server clusters are being changed to High Availability PA-RISC and Linux clusters for database and back-end applications with data storage on mission critical XP 1024 storage arrays. The storage area networks in place use point to point and iSCSI protocols to connect servers to storage arrays via fiber-channel switches. Oracle 10g will soon replace Oracle 8i for database functions.
