Welcome form 2011-2012 President Tanya Kelley:
"Welcome to the home of the FAU Chemistry Club! The 2011-2012 academic year will be very exciting for members as we have a lot of activities planned! We held our annual "Big Pig Roast" in August at Lake Biwa, just outside Morikami Park. This was a free event open to anyone who is interested in learning about the benefits of being a member of the FAU Chemistry Club - thank you to all those who joined us.
This year we have elected a Volunteer and Community Service Coordinator, and this new position will give members many opportunities throughout the year to obtain volunteer hours while learning what life is like as a Chemist. We will also be offering free tutoring to all members in upper division chemistry classes for which there isn't an S.I. program. Lastly, Our annual fall research symposium and banquet will take place in late November and will feature all new guest speakers along with a student poster session. A prize for best poster will be awarded as judged by peers and experts. More information is available below! I also look forward to working with our undergraduate members personally, and being able to shed some much needed light on undergraduate research, graduate school, and what being a chemist really means. Upcoming Events:
Fall 2011 Research Symposium at Lakeside Terrace at The Hilton from 7pm-11pm Friday 18th November 2011
The Symposium will kick off with an undergraduate and graduate research poster session/cocktail hour (7- 8 pm).
Dr. Leah Lyons (University of Miami/Nova Southeastern) will begin her presentation at 8:30 pm, followed by Dr. Nicolette Ross (SCRIPPS Florida) at 9:30 pm and lastly Dr. Daniel de Lill (Florida Atlantic University) will finish the night at 10:30 pm.
The official "after-party" fundraiser will be held at TJ Murphy's Bar and Grill from ~11pm - 2 am, located at 495 NE 20th St Boca Raton, FL.

The FALL 2010 Chemistry Club Research Symposium and Banquet
The Research Symposium was held at the Boca Bridge Hotel, November 19th 2010. It was a great success with excellent faculty turn out. Special thanks to Assoc. Dean of Science, Dr. Johanson, Chemistry Chair, Dr. Parkanyi, and Assoc. Chair, Dr. Haky. Also, we would like to thank Dr. Huchital and Dr. Shreve for their continued support. The guest speakers that evening were: Dr. Louda, Dr. West and Dr. Lepore - thank you for a scientifically informative and entertaining evening!!!
