The Faculty Senate represents and advocates the interests of faculty to the administration and the board of trustees. Success in that endeavor is based on the active participation of faculty senators by listening to their colleagues and sharing those concerns with fellow senators and officers. Through dedicated service we can address many of these issues in a satisfactory manner.
Faculty Senate officers and the executive committee meet monthly with senior administrators. Faculty Senate officers also have the opportunity to meet formally and informally with members of the Board of Trustees. These interactions are productive and positive.
I strongly encourage faculty to serve at least one term as a faculty senator. It is an opportunity to have substantive influence on academic policy, to meet colleagues from across the university, and to have a broader understanding of how the university works.

This is not a separate text-only site, it's a dynamic view that uses unique technology from Usablenet to give assistive users better, more accessible access to the same content and features as all users that use the graphic view of the site.
