Interdisciplinary Degree Program
- IDP -

The Interdisciplinary Degree Program provides a degree plan for traditional students, that is, students less than 25 years of age.  This flexible degree  program is designed for the multi-talented, multi-focused, and interdisciplinary-oriented undergraduate. Courses available online, evening, weekend, and/or day classes.

This degree program at the University of South Alabama grants a major in Interdisciplinary Studies (IST) allowing students to design an individualized, interdisciplinary program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. 

IST students work in collaboration with an academic advisor to choose relevant course work from more than 30 departments of instruction to meet the University’s general education requirements, as well as a 54 semester-hour field of study in Administrative Sciences, Applied Arts, Applied Sciences, Human Services, Community Services, Liberal Studies, or Professional Development.
