About Me:
While I was born and raised in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, my parents and two older brothers were transplants from Oregon (where the rest of my extended family still resides). This meant I did not grow up with an intense family tradition of being a die-hard fan of some SEC or Conference USA school. When it came time to pick a college, I was
starting with a blank slate.

South Alabama appealed to me for so many reasons, but the biggest factor was the growth of the university. USA is a young campus by college standards, so traditions are being started now. I felt I would be a part of something special, and I was right! During my collegiate years at South Alabama, so many wonderful things happened: the JagTran came to South and became a great means of transportation; freshman orientation was completely revamped into an awesome two-day summer seminar; the initial steps towards starting a football team took place; and the school spirit on campus probably tripled during my time as a student. And there are so many ways to be involved on campus. I was able to be involved in Greek Life, SouthBound Orientation, Prowlers dance team, Freshman Leadership Council and Advisory Board, and a variety of honor societies. I am a Jag fan through and through, and would love to answer any questions you have about this amazing university!

Thing about USA
The variety of activities. There are so many things to do on campus. A day doesn’t go by without an athletic game, a performance at the Laidlaw Theatre, a Jaguar Productions function, or some Campus Recreation event. Never a dull moment at South!

Place to Eat in Mobile
My older brother took me to The Brick Pit my first semester of college, and it quickly became my favorite place to eat in Mobile. Another plus: It’s less than half a mile from campus! It was even featured on Man v. Food Nation!!
