Sociology at Kent State StarkSociology is the scientific study of social life, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies, and how people interact within these contexts.
For undergraduates, the Department of Sociology provides courses meeting the Kent Core, diversity, minor and major requirements. For sociology majors we teach the application of social science theory, methodology, and empirical findings to gain an understanding of social structure and processes. Undergraduate students are prepared for a wide variety of occupations and careers.
