Do your employees send messages that are easily understood? Do action items jump off the page at the readers? Are email messages sent only to people who need them? Is the message targeted to the reader?

These proven techniques help your employees:

  • Craft well-organized, effective emails that reflect professionally on the author and convey your message
  • Convey the message in a clear, concise and organized manner
  • Use appropriate detail for various audiences
  • Distinguish between similar words that have different meanings (effect/affect, their/they’re/ there, etc.)
This eight-hour program is unique in its focus on applying new techniques. Our methodology allows your employees to take full advantage of their time away from work, returning with new skills and great tips that can be applied immediately.

Some typical modules are listed below; the specific modules to be presented are based on the samples submitted by participants, as well as consultation with managers, where appropriate.

  • Following proper email etiquette

Moving from Peer to Supervisor: Are we still friends?

Moving into a supervisory position can be an exciting and nerve-wracking step. Will my relationships change? What does a supervisor really do? What are my priorities now? These questions and more are addressed in this session. The benefits of attending this session include:

  • Learning the five basic management functions and three critical skills needed for you to succeed
  • Clarification of your new role and the new responsibilities and accountabilities you now have to your team, peers, managers, and organization
  • Completing a SWOT analysis for your organization and your team
  • Identifying how a supervisor must think, what they must say, and how they must behave
  • Identifying the actions you should take within the first few weeks of being a supervisor and creating a plan for completing them
  • Reviewing case studies of actual supervisor situations and determining the best course of action
Employment Law for New Supervisors

In addition to learning new ways of interacting with co-workers, new supervisors also need to know basic Federal and State Laws to help protect the employer from litigation. Participants will learn how these laws impact their daily activities:

Special Topic: Friday, April 17, 2015 (8:30am – 4:30pm) – Lean for Frontline Supervisors – John Potkalitsky

The overall success of a Lean transformation depends on leadership, especially frontline supervision.  Supervisors are the critical links between management and the people in the workplace.  They are in a key position to lead and create motivation.  And, most importantly, the supervisors are expected to change the current culture into a culture of continuous improvement.

However, despite these management expectations, most organizations give supervisors limited attention.  Supervisors often manage more people than anyone in the company.  Yet receive the least amount of training.  And, it’s not enough to just include supervisors in training.  The Lean training has to be designed specifically for the supervisors.

This one-day workshop focuses on the fundamental challenges the supervisors face in leading a Lean culture change.  From a supervisor perspective, they will learn how to use practical Lean tools and techniques in enough detail that they can begin immediately to apply them in their everyday work.  Also included is an overview of the “softer skills” needed to create and sustain successful change.
