About Maternal and Child Health

Through partnerships and collaboration with other agencies, Maternal and Child Health Services works to improve access to health services and reduce disparities in health outcomes for the mothers, expecting mothers, children and teens in New Jersey.  We offer resources and services to individuals and families as well as perform critical research to increase our knowledge and ability to serve these groups.

The Department of Health has a number of programs aimed at increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy for women who are pregnant and for newborn infants.  We also have a research unit that works on establishing trends as well as identifying best practices to promote and risk factors to avoid.
