Request Accommodations

Step 1: Submit a college application

Complete a TCC online application for admission to the college and submit it to the Admissions Center. Admission procedures for new students

Step 2: Take the placement test

If you require accommodations when you take the placement test, you must provide documentation described below.

Step 3: Meet with an Educational Accessibility counselor

Contact one of the campus Educational Accessibility counselors well in advance of the date classes begin. Contacting your counselor 30 days before the semester begins, will ensure that your accommodations will be in place on the first day of the semester.

Bring completed documentation of your disability (see Guidelines for Documentation), in the form of a report, or letter from your doctor containing detailed information about your disability. The documentation will be reviewed by your counselor and academic accommodations will be provided based on your functional limitations due to your disability. You will be provided with an accommodation form to give to each of your professors.

Your Educational Accessibility Counselor will review your placement test scores, help you select courses, to plan your academic program, etc. Your Educational Accessibility Counselor will also help you with the enrollment process.

Step 4: Present your Accommodation Form to your instructors

You are responsible for promptly presenting your accommodation form to your professors. You may decide that you do not want to give your form to all of your professors, however your professors will not give the accommodations until you present the form to them, and accommodations are not retroactive. You will need copies of your accommodations for each semester.

In the event your condition changes, requiring additional or a change to existing accommodations, you will again need to follow steps 3 and 4.
