Student Support Services Seeks Peer Tutors

DOTHAN – Troy University is currently seeking approximately 25 peer tutors for the Student Support Services Program. Peer tutors are paid $7.50 per hour and work on an as needed basis.

According to Dr. Debora Pettway, director of Student Support Services, tutors with knowledge in the areas of business stats, math, English, accounting, chemistry and many other disciplines are needed.

“We need peer tutors in all subject areas,” said Pettway. “The peer tutor can be a current student, a former student or a non-student, as long as they have expertise in the subject area of which they plan to tutor.”

All tutoring sessions are held either on the Dothan Campus or Fort Rucker Campus, and the position offers flexible hours.

“Peer tutors provide their schedule,” Pettway said, “and we make tutor assignments based on their availability.”
