Ecuadorian Professor visits Troy University
TROY, Ala. – A leading authority on newly emerging economies in South America will visit Troy University March 12-17 to lecture to students and meet with faculty.
Professor Manuel Murrieta Vasquez of Ecuador will speak on issues surrounding “Ecua-American” relations, as well as other topics, during his visit to the University’s Troy Campus. In addition to his expertise in South American economies, Professor Murrieta is also a leading authority on the branding trends of his native country.
“There are three important items in the public agenda about Ecuadorian-American relations: TLC (Tratado De Libre Comercio), which is a free trade agreement; the military base in Manta, which is rented by the American Government; and OXI, a petroleum company,” said Murrieta.
According to Associate Professor of Art and Design, Mel Shanks, Mr. Murrieta will lecture students in various disciplines and a colloquium is being planned for interested faculty members.
