Wynn Joins Troy University Development Team
DOTHAN – Doug Wynn joins Troy University as the new Dothan Campus director of advancement and alumni affairs. In this newly created position, Wynn will engage in University fund raising, while also acting as a liaison to University graduates.
As an alumnus of Troy University, Wynn considers it an honor to work for his alma mater. The Geneva resident holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business, along with a Master of Business Administration.
“TROY afforded me so much,” Wynn noted. “This is one way I can really give back and further the institution, which in turn will help many students better their lives.”
Dr. Jean Laliberte, Troy University associate vice chancellor for development, said Wynn will be a wonderful addition to the University’s development team.
“He is a graduate with a great love for the University,” Laliberte said, “and he brings a great deal of knowledge about the University because he has remained engaged through alumni activities. Doug knows the area and has great sales and customer relations skills, which will serve him well in his new position.”
Most recently, Wynn’s experience includes a stint as director of sales at WKMX in Dothan. In the past, Wynn also served as station manager, corporate trainer, sales manager and sales representative at WKMX. In addition, he is a former corporate trainer and account executive with Scenic Cable in Dothan.
Wynn’s involvement with the University includes presiding over the Troy University Alumni Association – Dothan Chapter from 2004 to 2005. He also served as chair of the Troy University Alumni Association Jackson Thornton Invitational Golf Tournament in 2003 and 2004.
Active in the community, Wynn is a member of the Dothan – Houston County Rotary Club and the Geneva River Festival Executive Committee. He served as United Way Coffee County Campaign Chair from 2000 through 2002, as well as United Way Board Chair from 2002 to 2003.
