Diversity Advisory Committee Past Events
Kent State Trumbull has hosted a variety of diversity events including:
- "Pancakes and a Lobster Tank: Living with Autism and Loving Alex" (theatre production, 2010).
- "For Every Man, Woman and Child - a modern morality play inspired by EVERYMAN"(theatre production adapted for American Sign Language and contemporary English, 2009).
- American Sign Language Halloween Party (Annual event).
- American Sign Language Easter Egg Hunt (Annual event).
- International Education Week & Film Festival (Annual event featuring foods, speakers and films with focal points on a variety of nations).
- Black History Month (Annual events in celebration of Black culture).
- Road Not Taken (Annual event with focus on high tech career choices for young women).
- Tunnel of Oppression (Annual event designed to evoke thought by removing spectators from their comfort zones and thereby causing them to change their preconceived ideas about hate. The 2011 tunnel addressed the "Five Faces of Oppression" which include exploitation, marginalization, powerlessness, cultural imperialism and violence.
