Scholarship Golf Outing
This year will mark the 11th anniversary of the annual Kent State University at Tuscarawas Scholarship Golf Outing sponsored by the Kent State Tuscarawas Alumni Association and the Tuscarawas County University Foundation. The event, a four-player, 18-hole scramble will be held at Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia on Friday, April 27, 2012.
The golf outing raises scholarship funds for deserving Kent State Tuscarawas students, and last year’s outing raised nearly $3500 bringing the nine-year total to more than $40,000. Continued enrollment growth and reductions in state funding for higher education, however, have created an even greater demand for scholarships.Due to the outing's success, a $1000 Alumni Council Legacy Scholarship has been awarded each fall semester to a deserving student. We hope you can join us for a great day on the course next year, and that you will also consider supporting our scholarship program through one of the many sponsorship opportunities that are listed in the golf program (i.e. hole sponsorships, prize donations, event sponsorships, etc.).
Greens fees for the outing are $75 per golfer and include lunch at the turn—your choice of one of four sandwiches and a drink—and dinner. The dinner menu includes grilled new york sirloin, baked potato, dinner salad, dinner rolls and soft drinks/water. A free beverage cart is also on the course during the outing. Adventure Harley Davidson of Dover, OH, sponsors a Harley Hole-in-one hole, where each golfer has a chance to win a new Sportster with a hole-in-one on the par 3 fifth hole, and a skins game is also available.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Oak Shadows Golf Club for this year's Scholarship Golf Outing.
