Ensuring Equal Access
UAA Disability Support Services exists primarily to ensure equal access. We work with students to understand barriers, and work with faculty to try and remove those barriers. This DSS website is focused on the accommodation process.
Increasing Understanding and Promoting Awareness
DSS also works to promote awareness of disability and a basic understanding of accessibility within the community and throughout the institution. DSS strives to increase awareness of best practices that minimize barriers from the beginning. Please visit the comprehensive Accessibility Site for more information on the proactive universal design of accessible spaces and materials.

- Submit for faculty notification
- Come back to schedule exams
Faculty Implement Accommodation
When students encounter barriers and are eligible for adjustments, faculty receive notification through the DSS Online Accommodation Management system.
Faculty are encouraged to consider accessibility at the course design stage and to work with DSS to address any questions, concerns, or ideas related to accommodation of students.
