The Graduate Biomedical Sciences (GBS) community at UAB encompasses approximately 420 graduate students and 350 faculty. They participate in multiple interdisciplinary thematic programs that integrate more than 25 departments and 20 research Centers in the School of Medicine, partner Schools throughout the university and Southern Research and HudsonAlpha,  affiliated drug discovery and biotechnology institutes.
