Welcome Dr. Radhika Gangaraju
We are delighted to welcome, Radhika Gangaraju, M.D., to our faculty as Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine on September 1, 2017.
Dr. Gangaraju comes to our division from the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute, Salt Lake City, where she completed a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology and conducted research with Dr. Josef Prchal, a former UAB Hematology member. Originally from India, Dr. Gangaraju received her Bachelors in Medicine and Bachelors in Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degrees from Rangaraya Medical College, Andhra Pradesh. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency in the UAB Montgomery program from 2010-13 and a Fellowship in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at UAB Birmingham from 2013-14.
Dr. Gangaraju will provide specialized care to patients diagnosed with coagulation disorders, non-malignant hematological disorders, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and sickle cell disease. She will see patients at The Kirklin Clinic and participate in the Hematology and Oncology consult service. She is a member of the Institute for Cancer Outcomes and Survivorship, and will be conducting research related to the thrombotic and hemostatic complications of cancer and cancer treatments.
Dr. Gangaraju is accompanied by her husband, Praveen and 2 children - daughter, Aadhya and son, Adhish. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome as she returns to UAB and Birmingham.
