The UAB School of Health Professions has a longstanding tradition of providing excellent professional education in physical and occupational therapy. In recent years, however, an explosion of new research efforts have positioned the school as a national leader in rehabilitation science as well. Propelled by the development of the new Ph.D. program in rehabilitation sciences, the creation of the unique UAB/Lakeshore Foundation Research Collaborative, and the addition of several nationally renowned investigators, SHP continues to expand its research footprint.

Building for the Future
As construction on the Health Professions Building expansion nears completion, faculty and students prepare to get a first glimpse of the new state-of-the-art space.  Closing the Gaps
A new study focuses on reducing disparities in health care by studying nearly 20,000 patient surveys in 66 hopsitals. 
Removing Barriers
A new effort seeks to improve weight and activity of children with Down syndrome by removing common barriers that prohibit a child's level of physical activity.  Alumni Profiles
