UK is engaged with Kentucky industries and provides cutting-edge research to benefit the state's citizens, economy and environment. Lexington is the ideal college town, but it's also so much more. Home to more than 280,000 residents, the city is a combination of cosmopolitan amenities with a small town charm. Ranked by Forbes magazine as the 5th Best Place for Business and Careers, there's really no reason to leave.
The federally-funded and internationally recognized UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging is continuing its legacy of aging and Alzheimer's research that has benefitted not only people in Lexington and the Commonwealth but also people from around the world as a result of research and programs led by a group of dedicated faculty scientists and clinicians.
With more than 400 student organizations and clubs, a state-of-the-art fitness center for intramurals, leadership opportunities, living-learning communities, and Student Activities Board events, life at UK goes far beyond the classroom setting.
