The University of Kentucky has purchased the use of Qualtrics for student, faculty and staff researchers. Qualtrics is an advanced survey tool with over 100 question types created with researchers in mind. Similar to tools such as SurveyMonkey or LimeSurvey, Qualtrics supports many different languages, advanced survey logic, piping and randomization. Qualtrics has an easy to use set of reporting tools, and may export data into excel and SPSS for more in-depth data analysis. This survey tool also makes it easy to securely give edit, result, activation/deactivation, copy and distribute rights to other team members. Registered Qualtrics users may create an unlimited number of surveys, collect an unlimited number of responses, and collaborate freely with others at the university.
Created specifically with research in mind, Qualtrics takes data security seriously. In the Qualtrics Security Statement, it is noted that Qualtrics, "has SAS 70 Certification and meets the rigorous privacy standards imposed on health care records by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)."
