Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client is now available on the UK Download site. This client serves as the replacement to the current Cisco VPN clients (v5.0.07.0410 and v5.0.07.440). Cisco AnyConnect is fully compatible with the Windows 10 operating system. For installation and setup instructions, please visit http://www.uky.edu/ukat/help/software.
Please Note: The Cisco VPN clients, v5.0.07.0410 and v5.0.07.440, will continue to work and be available for download until August 2016. At that time, users requiring a VPN client will need to install Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.
Microsoft Windows 10 Education
Please note that testing of the Windows 10 operating system has revealed compatibility issues with several current UK applications. The list shown below is not inclusive.
- SAP Web applications in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and Edge
- Cisco VPN clients (v5.0.07.0410, v5.0.07.0440, and v4.9.01.0080). For a compatible VPN solution, use Cisco AnyConnect (see above)
- Other Cisco applications such as IP Communicator and Agent Desktop/Supervisor
- Microsoft Endpoint Protection 2012
- Kronos Workforce Central v6.2 and earlier versions
Due to the number of known compatibility issues, UKAT encourages faculty and staff not to upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise until verifying there are no compatibility issues with any critical systems. Should you choose to proceed with Windows 10 installation, and until further notice, all questions and issues should be directed to your departmental IT support team.
Google 2-Step Verification
UK Analytics and Technologies (UKAT) is excited to announce updated security for Google Apps for Education users. As part of a continuing investment and improvement to UK’s cyber infrastructure, UKAT will add a 2-Step Verification (2SV) option for users of UK’s Google Apps or UK’s Gmail domain @g.uky.edu. Users can choose to maintain their current Google Apps security or activate the 2-step authentication.
