Student Computing Services maintains 10 computer labs that are spread out across the campus of University of Kentucky


UK Students, Faculty, and Staff can find the necessary hardware and software to complete their assignments and projects. While SCS only maintains 11 labs, there are numerous other labs maintained by individual colleges spread across campus.

Nursing

The Nursing lab is located on the 6th floor of the College of Nursing located across from the main hospital. The lab can be reached at 859-323-4233. The Nursing lab is open 7 days a week from 7am-10pm, and staffed with a Learning Spaces Lab Consultant from 8am-6pm Monday through Friday. This lab offers students the ability to utilize 4 iMacs and 16 Dell computers with Windows 7 and two black and white printers. Along with the lab, we have a classroom set up with test proctor monitoring technology. There are 144 Dell computers with Windows 7, one teachers station, and a dual projector system. A new 77 seat classroom with 50 Dell Windows machines is expected to be open for Fall 2015 semester.

Lab Info

    Come join us in the newly renovated Cisco lab, conveniently located at the Hub in the basement of the W.T. Young Library. Guests have access to 53 Windows computers and 7 iMacs. There are also 4 color flatbed scanners, two black and white multi-function printers, and a color printer. The 18 Windows machines on the right side of the lab (closest to Kentucky Trade) have the Engineering image, with access to all of the programs available in the Engineering labs. Instructors can reserve one of our three classrooms located inside the lab, via the Registrars office, with class sizes ranging from 16 to 30 machines. If you need assistance while in the lab, you've got lots of help. Learning Spaces Technology has a consultant on hand during all times that the library is open. The folks from Tech Help are available in the lab Monday through Friday from 10am until 6pm. If you're having computer troubles, stop by and see the folks at Kentucky Trade.
