UMass Dartmouth professor emeritus of French language and literature  and the Boivin Center Director Mel Yoken, who has traveled to Paris about 150 times, said the “attacks on Paris were attacks on all humanity.”

“It grieves me greatly that my beloved adopted country has been again the target of terrorism by an invidious enemy which preys on innocent people,” Yoken said.

Yoken said the enemy that attacked Paris must be confronted.

“It is indeed a challenge and a necessity to confront this enemy that can emerge anywhere and is not at all concerned about its own mortality.

Merci for making An Evening with Kate Betts a rousing success!  Kate Betts was a most charming speaker who both entertained and enlightened the audience with her insights and memories of the fashion industry in France and its lasting effect on the course of her life.

On December 13th, Josée Vachon and Lucie Therrien, two outstanding performers of French Canadian music return to UMass Dartmouth for a 10th year reunion concert.  The performance will be held in the Center for Visual and Performing Arts Auditorium at 2 PM.

Take a break from preparations for the holidays and come join us for an afternoon of French Canadian music!
