Welcome to the Biology department at UMass Dartmouth! As the world around us continues to increase in the complexity of interrelationships between humans and nature, and as we are faced with new critical problems to solve in health care and the environment, having a scientifically educated populace becomes increasingly important. An understanding of biology, the study of life, is not only necessary for addressing many societal problems, but also satisfies our intrinsic human interest in learning more about the world around us.

We offer programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Marine Biology, and the Master of Science degree in Biology or Marine Biology.
