Parag joined the Department of Economics in Fall 2011. He recently defended his PhD dissertation at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. He has taught economics before at the University of Connecticut’s main as well as the regional campuses and for Carleton University’s B.Comm India program at the Kohinoor Business School in Khandala, India. His research focus is on monetary policy and political economy of government spending. His PhD research uses money search models and theory of repeated games to explore the nature of monetary policy under fiscal pressures. Parag is originally from India where he graduated with a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
