Dr. Andrés Xavier Echarri is from Peru where he received his B.A. in Hispanic Literature from the Catholic University of Peru, Lima, and then completed his M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Cultural Studies at Michigan State University, Lansing, in 2004. He has taught at the University of West Georgia, Carrollton, where he also directed the Study Abroad Program in Mexico. His research agenda focuses on Latin American Cultural Studies, Hispanic Poetry and Cinema. Currently he is committed to the study of the constructions of childhood and the body within Latin American narrative. Dr. Echarri also has interests in the visual arts and creative writing; he is a published poet.
