The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures adopts a grading policy based upon the following percentage ranges for its 101, 102, 201 and 202 classes. Grading policies for upper level classes are at the discretion of the instructor.

Please note that instructors will vary in the type of work they ask you to submit within each category that is assigned a grade as well as the amount of percentage assigned within a given category.

Grading categories:

• Administrative: 10-20%
  • Daily in-class participation and advance preparation
  • Attendance
• Interpersonal: 15-20%
• Interpretive: 10-15%
• Presentational: 10-20%
• Evaluative: 25-30%
