Shannon Jenkins
Associate Professor of Political Science
Director of the Liberal Arts program

Professor Jenkins' research focuses on American public policy and state and local politics, with a specific emphasis upon state legislatures and political parties. She has published several articles on a variety of topics in American politics in journals such as Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, and Urban Affairs Review.  Prof. Jenkins' work includes “ 10 Years After the Revolution: 1994 and Partisan Control of Government” in The State of the Parties: The Changing Role of Contemporary American Parties (Rowman & Littlefield), " The Impact of Party and Ideology on Roll-Call Voting in State Legislatures" published in Legislative Studies Quarterly, and "Sustainable Master Planning in Urban Politics: A Service-Learning Project" in the Journal of Political Science Education.  She recently authored an article entitled "Party Influence on Roll Call Voting: A View from the States" which appared in State Politics and Policy Quarterly.  Prof. Jenkins has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in the 2011-2012 academic year, during which she will teach courses in American Politics at East China University of Political Science and Law.
