JAMES EDWARDS: Biography

James Edwards earned his BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and his MFA in Illustration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Serving advertising agencies and book publishers on a national level, James has been working as a freelance illustrator since 1981. He has taught illustration at all college levels since 1995. Currently teaching here as a full-time visiting lecturer, James works with Sophomores and Seniors within the area of Illustration.

James is currently executing a series of interior murals depicting the historical highlights of Brockton, Massachusetts while creating a series of double-page ESL textbook spreads in watercolor for Heinle and Heinle / Thomson International Publishers. James is also pursuing experiments in digital animation. He has recently completed an animated short entitled 'The Sitter in Exile', the story of a paranormal encounter in an New England antique shop.
