Artist's Statement:

"Earlier work addresses loss and the attachment that precedes it. I attempted to capture the moment when the absence is physically known. In the past year, ideas of mid-life are taking form - of finding oneself in unexpected circumstances, examining trust, love, the currents ahead, the unfulfilled expectations. Phrases from conversations, conjunctions of words, and observations of the quotidian stir the mind and the senses. I begin by distilling what it was that caught my attention. Images float up and wed themselves to material and form. If promising, the piece elicits the same ping as the initial observation."
